Our Team
Our small team of creative and technical minds came together to organize, shoot, and edit a seven minute documentary in four weeks. A few months ago, several of our team members went to shoot a short film in Puerto Rico. While there, our director felt inspired by the tight nit community and the importance of Puerto Rican food on the culture. Therefore, we decided to make a documentary around the culture and how they were affected after Hurricane Maria.
Hailey Henderson
Producer
Hailey is from Tampa, FL and normally stays in the roll of an editor or script supervisor, but branched out to Produce Still Afloat.
Robbie Acevedo
Producer
Robbie is from Lajas, Puerto Rico where he grew up watching and loving movies. With Still Afloat, he has managed to merge his passion for film with the love of his home.
Kyle Bastin
Director
Kyle is from Greenwood, Indiana. He began his filmmaking career there as a writer and director until he branched out onto larger projects including one shot in Puerto Rico.
Marcos A. Garcia Padilla
Screenwriter
Marcos is from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico and has always had a passion for characters. With Still Afloat, he has proven that his work expands beyond fiction.
Beau Eckel
Cinematographer//Editor
Beau is from Warsaw, Indiana. He has over ten years experience with camera and editing and has put those skills to use on multiple projects, including a film shot in Puerto Rico.
Alejandro Aponte
Sound Mixer
Alejandro is from Bayamon, Puerto Rico and moved to Orlando, FL to pursue his filmmaking dreams. He often does work as a grip and a script supervisor, but ultimately decided on sound for this project.
Taylor-Marie Fiume
Art Director
Taylor-Marie is from Tampa, Florida. She has an eye for colors and used it to help Still Afloat pop.
Alberto Carranza
Music Composer
Alberto is from Costa Rica. While often working as a writer/director, he used his skills for music and creating feeling to help aid the story of Still Afloat.
